The first time the Chennai Crafters met, it was a short meet in Nungambakkam. So when it was decided to meet up for the second time, Shruti suggested that we have a purposeful meet with a live craft demonstration. We decided to do a demo of a Lampshade by Somu Padmanabhan.
When we wanted a venue for this meet, Kamla Ravikumar was kind enough to offer space in her art studio. It was indeed nice to see people turn up even from the other side of the city. After a brief ice breaking session, we went on with the agenda of the evening.
It was a fruitful evening where the limelight was high jacked from the demo by a certain set of cup cakes. It was a small gathering, and it really helped keeping the session interactive. There was loads of food and beverages (the sober ones), and lots of conversation before the group decided to disperse.
Everyone really was looking forward to the next meet, which was soon to come, and with a surprise idea from the group admins. Here are some snippets from the meet.
